On The Farmstead: March 2026

1. The Farm Quick Glance (TL;DR)

  • What’s Peaking: Lettuce, Radish, and Arugula are in full swing and will likely push us through the end of this month.

  • Last Chance: Spinach and Onions are wrapping up this month. It will soon get too hot for these guys to keep going.

  • Garden Vibe: March and April are the months when our gardens go through a big change. As it warms up, we switch from our winter crops to our warm season produce.

2. Fresh From the Soil: What’s in the Market Now

  • Feature Crop: "Our arugula is extra peppery this month; try it in a salad with lemon and parmesan."

  • The Full List:

    • Spinach

    • Onion

    • Lettuce

    • Radish

    • Arugula

3. The "Last Call" List

  • Going, Going, Gone: Our brassicas are finishing up and will not return until late next fall. Get your fill on Kale, Greens, Cabbage, and Broccoli.

  • Preservation Tip: We have a little Kohlrabi left and it make a great pickle.

4. Behind the Scenes: What We’re Starting This Month

  • In the Greenhouse: We continue to start tomato, cucumber, squash, and pepper seedlings in March. We also start all of our Roselle seeds in March as well.

  • Into the Field: What young plants are being moved outside?

5. Local Flavor & Community Events

Connect your garden to the broader community to boost SEO and local engagement.

  • Local Spotlight: Mention a nearby bakery, coffee shop, or florist you collaborate with.

  • Mark Your Calendar: List one local event (even if it’s not yours) like a food truck rally, a garden workshop, or a town festival.

6. Recipe of the Month

Keep it simple—something that uses at least three items currently in the market.
